The Cavendish Square Group is proud to support the professional development of the mental health workforce. Working in partnership with Health Education England and the Healthy London Partnership, we recently supported the delivery of a Strategic Leadership Development Programme for Children and Young People's Mental Health Providers.
During 2021, a cohort of 30 CYPMH clinicians and service managers took part in this opportunity, aimed at developing critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to address challenges in the CYP mental health workforce.
Inspired by the Healthy London Partnership Children and Young People’s Mental Health Workforce Strategy, the programme aimed to equip leaders with the skills to champion and influence children and young people’s mental health and advocate for change at a strategic and operational level.
The eight month programme consisted of six taught modules covering the theoretical aspects of strategic leadership, whilst in parallel, the programme delegates worked on a number of strategic improvement projects, splitting into teams and each focusing on one of the key workforce challenges.
The programme culminated with an audience with the Cavendish Square Group, where delegates presented their innovative ideas in a Dragon’s Den style, hoping to gain support to take their initiatives forward.
We were delighted to be invited to support the programme for a second year in 2022.
